We will update our website on a daily basis and remove any unavailable items. However, if you have ordered a particular product as we are in the process of updating the system, and it is unavailable when the order comes through, we may need to substitute a different item. We will always substitute with as close a match as possible. If you are not happy to accept any substitutions please tick the box at the checkout stage.
As with any business prices will change periodically. All new prices will be immediately uploaded on the website. There will be no additional costs once you have gone through and ended the checkout process even if a product has increased in price.
We cannot cut cheese exactly but we will never despatch an item of a lower weight than that you have paid for.
Delivery to most parts of the Country will usually be within 1-5 days. Deliveries to more remote parts of the UK may take longer. You can however request specific dates for delivery especially if the items being sent are for a gift or for a particular event/function. Please give us a minimum of 14 days notice to ensure exact dates are achieved. Please bear in mind that during the month of December we are exceptionally busy, and so is our courier service so please give us as much notice as possible in order to avoid any disappointment. Please note that our standard postage charges only cover the UK Mainland and Northern Ireland. If you require delivery outside of this area then please contact us for delivery costs.
We do not have a minimum order value but please check our delivery prices which detail our specific charges for various weight bandings.
To ensure a speedy and efficient delivery please ensure the delivery address and post code are correct. The post code is especially important as we cannot be held responsible for an undelivered parcel due to a wrong address/postcode. Post code checkers are available online.
If the courier has proof that a delivery was attempted then this will be deemed as proof that delivery was completed.
We will not be held responsible for the condition of the goods if delivery cannot be made because there is no one at the delivery address.
If a parcel has been signed for by anyone other than the designated recipient we will not be held liable for any alleged loss of goods.
Late delivery of items will not be an acceptable reason for refusing goods.
If items have been sent to a third party address eg. Wedding venue, hotel , restaurant, holiday accommodation etc. we cannot be held responsible for any missing items.
On acceptance of any perishable items they must be refrigerated immediately at a temperature between 1⁰C and 5⁰C. We recommend that any cut cheeses are consumed within five days of receipt. Whole cheeses usually have a much longer shelf life/use by date and depending on the type of cheese should keep much longer. Please email the shop or ring for further advice.
Please note we are not permitted to sell a knife or blade to any person under the age of 18 in accordance with the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (amended version).
Likewise we cannot sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 18 in accordance with the Licensing Act 2003.
For non-perishable goods the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 apply. This enables you to cancel and return an order within a 7 day period. Please let us know in writing, either by letter or e-mail, within 7 days if you wish to cancel your order of non-perishable goods. Should you wish to cancel the ownership of the goods reverts back to us as the supplier. You as the consumer have a duty to take reasonable care of the goods until you return them to us.
All goods should be checked on delivery and any damaged goods must be notified in writing to us within 3 days of receipt of the items in order for credit to be obtained. To help us assess any damage please attach photographic evidence to any written claim.
Any goods should be returned to our shop in Hartington either in person or via a courier. A refund will only be given when the contract is cancelled by returning the said item to us. All money originally paid to us (not including any delivery charges) will be credited back to your card account on the date we receive the returned goods.
If goods are damaged or broken we reserve the right to refund payment for these items rather than send out a replacement item.
